Aware of the health and socio-economic implications of rabies disease, ATERP 2 (successor to ATERP 1) aims to contribute to the elimination of rabies by 2030. This will be achieved through enhanced rabies control, including awareness meetings, identifying rabies vaccination promoters, and capacity building in rabies control, as well as the procurement and distribution of 6,000 vials of rabies vaccine. Ultimately, this will lead to vaccination of 60,000 dogs in Mzimba, Rumphi and surrounding districts.
