2025
In this initiative, the focus is on milk processing to improve shelf-life and minimise postharvest losses through the production of milk products such as yoghurt. Other activities in the project include conducting sensitisation meetings, training of dairy cooperative members in yoghurt and cheese making, milk handling and food hygiene. In addition, the project will backstop operations of Community Animal Health Workers who play a critical role in livestock extension and provision of animal health services in collaboration with government extension officers. Refresher training for CAHWs is also an integral activity. Besides targeting dairy farmers, the project also plans to reach out to poultry farmers. Under this, the project plans to procure Newcastle Disease vaccine to improve access to the vaccine
